The Government of Catalonia approves a Decree-Law of urgent measures for the climatic emergency and the impulse to the renewable energies

Emergencia Climatica
The Executive Council has approved a decree law of urgent measures for the climatic emergency and the impulse to the renewable energies. The text eliminates administrative barriers for the implantation of renewable energies in Catalonia and solves several aspects of the Law of the climatic change that had been declared unconstitutional, with the objective of continuing to advance in the mitigation of climate change and in the energy transition, and is framed in the climate emergency situation declared by the Government last May.

The approval of this decree law should facilitate the achievement of the objectives established both in the Climate Change Law and in the bases of the National Pact for the Energy Transition. According to the first estimates of the Institut Català d'Energia (ICAEN), to meet these goals Catalonia needs to have 4,000 MW of wind and 6,000 MW of photovoltaic solar installed in 2030, starting from 1,270 MW of wind and the 276 MW of photovoltaic solar service.
